Taking the Lauretana road south from Siena, we’ll drive through the splendid landscape of the Crete Senesi, stopping to take beautiful photographs of postcard-gorgeous scenes.
Then we’ll visit Asciano, a little Medieval jewel of a town, where we’ll enjoy tasting local products during a delectable lunch.
In the afternoon we’ll continue on to the Abbey of Monteoliveto, to admire the superb 16th-century fresco cycle in the Great Cloister and other evocative features of this abbey set amid the Crete Senesi countryside.
